Abstract

The aim of this study was to identify the prevalence and factors associated with Binge Eating Disorder among female university students. This is a descriptive, cross-sectional, quantitative study with a sample of 29 female students, using a questionnaire. The data were analyzed using SPSS, and categorical variables were analyzed using absolute and relative frequencies. The results revealed that many participants felt dissatisfied with their bodies and resorted to food during times of stress, with 37.5% of the participants admitting to relieving stress through eating. In addition, 68.2% reported eating more during anxiety attacks. It was concluded that binge eating disorder is not limited to obesity, but also affects individuals with an adequate body mass index, and is influenced by emotional factors such as anxiety and stress. Effective treatment requires specialized psychological and nutritional monitoring.
