Abstract

This study analyzed the epidemiological profile of leprosy cases reported in Barra do Garças, Mato Grosso, between 2022 and 2026. An epidemiological, descriptive, retrospective, and quantitative study was conducted using secondary data from SINAN/DATASUS. A total of 163 cases were analyzed, showing progressive annual decrease in notifications. Predominance was found in males (54.60%), Brown-skinned individuals (52.76%), adults aged 40 to 49 (21.47%), and those with completed high school (19.63%). Clinically, there was an express predominance of the multibacillary classification (93.25%), dimorphous clinical form (67.48%), more than five lesions (31.90%), and the 12-dose MDT/MB regimen (82.21%). At diagnosis, 35.58% had physical disabilities (Grades I and II). The cure rate was 52.76%, with a 9.20% abandonment rate and 24.54% of incomplete records. In conclusion, leprosy remains a significant local challenge, characterized by late diagnoses and weak monitoring data quality.
